Marian Tainter & Richard Godfrey witnessed a marriage & I believe they are cousins, see below: Sophia Jaycox was Sophia Godfrey, d/o Elisha Godfrey & Polly Barden, she married Henry Jaycox. My Polly/Mary Godfrey was b. March 26, 1804 in NY & married Daniel Tainter in Washtenaw Co., MI on May 29th, 1832. Richard Godfrey in second marriage you listed below is Sophia Godfrey Jaycox sister & Marian Tainter is Polly Godfrey Tainter's daughter. Do you know anymore about these connections? I would like to hire a genealogist in MI to find details on the Fifield Cemeter where the Tainter headstone is & inf. on the Godfrey, Tainter, Jaycox families. Polly Tinter & her family are listed in the 1850 Census of Rives or Tompkins & in 1860 she is using the Godfrey surname with her children. These marriages are recorded at the Jackson County Clerk so I am sure you can get a copy of them there. Marcus Jaycox, age 23 of Onondaga and Margarette Harth age 18 of Tompkins on 1 January 1856 (record dated at Tompkins) by L.L. Miles, J.P. Witnesses: Henry and Sophia Jaycox of Leslie. D-139 Austin Hamilton, age 22 of Leslie and Sarah M. Horth age 19 of Tompkins on 27 December 1858 (place not recorded) by Harrison Dwight, J.P. Witnesses: Richard Godfrey and Marian Tainter.
