The guestbooks at www.jacksonmich.com make for some interesting reading. With a little reformatting and a search engine it could be a great web site. It might make sense to create a separate history and genealogy guestbook so readers don't have to wade through the adverts and all. Yours truly, and the owner of the www.albionmich.com and www.jacksonmich.com websites Maggie LaNoue, will be the featured speakers at the Tuesday, November 4 meeting of the Jackson County Genealogical Society. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 925 Backus St., Jackson, Mi (517) 782-0543. We'll be featuring a "powerpoint" presentation about the aformentioned websites and how they have been, and can even more be a help to genealogists and historians. We'll give specific examples of how these sites have brought families together, even from across the globe. Post your genealogical questions on the guestbooks on either www.jacksonmich.com for Jackson County, or www.Albionmich.com for Calhoun County. I've written numerous history articles which are on the www.Albionmich.com site, and several deal with Jackson County topics. Feel free to visit this site. We'll see you at the genealogy meeting on Tuesday, November 4. Best wishes,! Frank Passic, Albion Historian. ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
