He and his family, wife Emma and children, Jane, Sarah, William(Henry), Thomas and John arrived in the U.S in 1852 and came straight to Jackson, as they had family here already. I find nothing on Richard after their arrival, though. Emma and some of the children are in the 1860, 1870, etc. census as well as various directories. I think he may have died in the 8 years between their arrival and the 1860 census. Would anyone have any ideas or information? I know many of his descendants are buried at Woodland Cemetery, but neither he nor Emma are shown there. For that matter, neither are his son John or John's wife, Florence Belle (Conklin) Holtom. John died Sept. 26, 1926 and Florence died Oct. 17, 1894, according to the old Conklin family bible.
