I suggest you contact the Jackson Public Library reference desk (reference@jackson.lib.mi.us 517-788-4087 - they might be able to help you for a donation, or give you the name of a professional genealogist in the area who can do the research. Or, the Jackson County Genealogical Society (although I've not gotten a reply when I've emailed them.) Those abbreviations are probably for the Jackson Weekly Citizen, Jackson Citizen Patriot, etc. - all the same paper I believe, with name changes. They have it on microfilm at the library.
