It was a beautiful old mansion. My duties included playing games, reading with the boys, accompanying them tio mass in the orphanege. My folks used to bring a boy home for dinner occasionally. tHE BOYS WERE WELL CARED FOR AND HAPPY. tHEY ATTENDED jACKSON PUBLIC schools. The orphanege was managed by the Sisters of St. Joseph, that order is no longer in Jackson. There is still a SSJ (Sisters of St Joseph order) in Kalamazoo. Hope I was some help. I've always had good thoughts of orphaneges because it was a caring environment. My folks thought so too. I later went on to be a nurse. Good luck in finding more info! Jan
