Annie immigrated from Germany in 1902. My guess is that both Annie and Emma died prior to 1919 when John married his second wife Bertha Pielemeier on Jan 25, 1919 at the Pielemeier farm in Chelsea. No one has ever mentioned this first marriage, including my father or his two brothers (John and Bertha's children) so any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, John

Surnames: Doherty, Howard, Morrison, Morrisey Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BGB.2ACI/512 Message Board Post: Hello, I'm looking for ancestors of my great-grandfather Daniel T. Doherty, b. August 2 circa 1870, who married Katherine Agnes Howard in Denver, Colorado, on November 21, 1900, and lived with her in Jackson, MI until his death in the 1920s-1930s. Daniel owned a grocery store on the corner of Wildwood Avenue and West Avenue for many years. My grandmother Julia (Daniel and Agnes's only child) thought his mother's name was Anne Morrison or Morrisey, but wasn't certain. I know that she was alive in 1900 and living with Daniel in Jackson. Any help would be appreciated!

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BGB.2ACI/511 Message Board Post: Hi, my name is Jessica Kelly; maiden name: Jessica Jones. I'm 22 years old. My father's name is Harry Emmett Jones Jr., and my grandfather's name is Harry Emmett Jones Sr. My grandfather died in Jackson in October of 1996, aged 64. My father still lives there, I think (I don't have much contact with him). My grandfather's wife's name was Conchieta Perez. I'm not sure if I spelled her first name right. She had my dad, my aunt, Susan Jones, and my uncle, Paul Jones. She also had two daughters before them, not from my grandfather, one named Maria & one named Debbie; they currently (last I knew) reside in Texas. Harry Sr.'s mom's name was Alice Rogers. His father's name was Theodore Jones Sr. Conchieta's father's name was Manuel Perez, and her mother's name was Wanda Norton. Most of these people were in the Michigan area, as far as I can tell. My father and grandfather were both born in Jackson. I am at a loss to finding my ancestors. I don't have a whole lot to go on, but I am attempting to, with the help of my mother-in-law. If anyone out there has any info, or is looking for similar people, I would LOVE it if you would contact me at j_k_enterprises@sbcglobal.net Thanks so much! Jessica Kelly p.s. I have some stuff I'm trying to find out about, if someone out there thinks maybe info could be linked up, just contact me and we'll see. I didn't think it would be nice if I stuck my whole family tree on this post.

In a message dated 8/12/2004 11:24:54 PM Eastern Standard Time, Patti600@aol.com writes: She did say that it might be a relation but that she thinks the mother of my great grandmother was Kyer or Kyes due to the placement of the stone right next to hers ***** You did not state the time period of the deaths. Lots of things could have happened that a non-relative is buried in the same lot or area. I have a group of Irish ancestor relatives that years and years ago bought many lots, so they could be buried together. As the years went on, many of the younger family group married non-Irish people, moved away from the town, married into other families that had bought many lots in a different cemetery and the 'younger couples' chose to be buried in those later lots...... Now the original large group of lots that the original Irish ancestors bought had many empty lots. The younger family members, who still lived in the state, had made other arrangements for their burials so they sold off the lots. There is now one family of Asian ancestry now with my Irish ancestors. There is no blood connection with them. This could be the case with the situation you mentioned. Learn about those people from census, probate records, vital records and other documents, to find if they are related to your ancestor. Read any history of the township or county for this other family. Another situation I found was a servant woman who had been with the family since she was a teenager, is buried with the family and is mentioned on the family monument. There is no blood connection with them. There are probably more reason why the person is buried there and not a blood relative. Susanne
I have just rec'd possible new info (and photos) from a very kind person who went to Wright Cemetery for me. My question is this... I have been tracing my great grandmother's parents as being of the Wright family. I have few documents, only my great grandmother's daughter's death cert. which lists her mother's maiden name as Wright and a few other papers but not much concrete evidence. However the woman who took the photos for me saw that next to my family's monument (the Murray family) was a headstone for Kyer (or Kyes). She believes that because this is next to my great grandmother's that it is her mother. Was this the custom years ago? I don't want to go off on a wild goose chase. I did think that all buried in this cemetery were Wrights... does anyone know if this is true? She did say that it might be a relation but that she thinks the mother of my great grandmother was Kyer or Kyes due to the placement of the stone right next to hers. Would appreciate any input or info anyone could offer. Thanks!! Patti
