Historical maps are an invaluable resource to genealogists, historians and researchers with an interest in 19th century landscape and cultural features. Individual county maps are useful for identifying 19th century transportation routes, railroads, canals, streams and rivers, cities, towns and villages, and early place names. One-room schools, churches, cemeteries and other cultural features are also included in the county maps. The city and village plat maps in each atlas are often more detailed with many early property owners identified; industrial sites including a variety of stores, factories and mills; State and local government sites: cemeteries, churches, schools, fair grounds, race tracks, asylum & hospitals; and much more. The current web site includes county maps and atlases from: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. Pennsylvania and Kentucky will be added shortly; Missouri and West Virginia are planned during first quarter of next year. As always, all available 19th century maps and atlases may also be purchased at eBay: http://stores.ebay.com/Historic-Atlas-Series-by-HAR?refid=store Thanks for reading, Rich http://www.historic-atlas-series.com

I have a relative who lived at 211 Alverson Street and I understand that the street name changed from "Alverson" to "TenEyck." I have also been advised by family who did once reside in Jackson that this is a short street. I went to look up the address on a Jackson map through the Yahoo site and there is no such address as "211" anymore. The only addresses on that street that I was able to locate were in the 1200, 1400, 1500, 1600 1700 and 1800 blocks. Sounds like too long of a street form what I have been advised. Does anyone who knows Jackson well or live in town have any idea what happened to number "211"??? Were the addresses changed??? I will be in Jackson next summer and I was hoping to check out the property to see what's there but I need to locate it first. Is there a number for a City Clerk that deals with street and number changes for the city. Thank you for you interest and any help you can provide. I aprreciate it. Kathleen in California

Family records given to me list it is Oaklawn Cemetery, but I find no reference to one by that name anywhere. Could someone check on a death for me? Albert Benjamin Green, Sr., died 28 May 1914. He lived in Pinckney, Livingston Co, but there is no death certificate for him there. A number of his children were in Jackson County, so maybe he was with one of them when he died. I don't need a certificate, just the info. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Ann Marr
