    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as Ray & Ludlow WOOD or WOODS. The photograph was taken at the McCourt Studio in Crystal Falls, Michigan likely sometime in the 1880's or 1890's. The two boys in the photograph appear to be from just a few months old to about 3 years of age at the time. In addition to their names, someone has also written "Aunt Anna" on the back of the photograph as if that is to person to whom the photograph was gifted. My great-grandfather was Joseph and my grandfather was Alfred. My sister and I have some information about the family and I would be happy to share what little I have and whatever more I can obtain from my sister and hope that you would be willing to do the same. By the way, have you ever found anything on Fred Verville...was he related to Joseph in any way? He was Alfred's Father-in-law and although we had heard when we were kids that my grandparents were cousins, and they certainly had their share of strange genetic occurences in their kids, I would like to find out if it is true. Maybe together we could find a few more facts. I did some research for a paper for school a few months ago and found out that contrary to what we believed, Joseph and Dainage were both born in Michigan and moved to Canada after they were married, then came back and one of their sons (I think it was Joseph, Jr.) came here in 1931. I also l! earned that one of his (Joseph Jr's) sons was a semi-famous Canadian Mounty. Please write me at librariesfinest@yahoo.com as I would like to get to know any members of the family and perhaps in working together we can find out more. sincerely, Joanne Clay Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Joseph and Dainage were my great-grandparents. I too am searching. About all I have is a family tree with some of their children's information. What I have found is that my grandparents...Joseph's son Alfred, and his wife Jeannette may have been cousins. Her father was Fred Verville, but I have found no records back further than Joseph and Dainage. I was surprised to find that both Joseph and Dainage were born here and later migrated to Canada as we have always believed they migrated here FROM Canada. Also, my grandmother's father just sort of disappeared....I can find no record of Fred Verville. If you have any tips, websites, or other information that may help me, or if you have any more information, please feel free to email me at librariesfinest@yahoo.com. I am interested to find any relatives both here and in Canada as our family doesn't know very much. I will share anything I have, which isn't much. Thank you and please keep in touch. Some adoption records may be sealed, but I doubt if you'll have this problem. You may have to prove you're her great grand-daughter. I see Oscar Salmi died in 1938 and Hulda in 1914, shortly after the 1910 Census. They are buried in Evergreen Cemetery 4P13. If it was a legal adoption by the Leppanens, it should be filed in the county in which it occured. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
