Carol, I have written to the Ionia County Clerk's office for copies of marriage records and death certificates. They have records dating back to 1867. They have been charging a nominal fee ($1) for uncertified copies. Birth certificates are $10 and must be over 110 years old or some restrictions apply. Sue B. is the person I have been corresponding with at the Ionia County Clerk's office. The address is 100 Main Street, Ionia, MI 48846, phone 616-527-5380, fax 616-527-5380. I have found it is quicker and less expensive in most cases to correspond with the county clerk's office instead of the state vital records. Michigan has a County Clerk's Directory on the internet. For Ionia County try http://www.sos.state.mi.us/history/archives/county/ionia.html you may access other counties from there. Good luck, Nona ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jan & Glenn" <cristian@netonecom.net> To: <MIIONIA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2001 5:41 PM Subject: Fw: lookup > Can anyone help this person?
