I recently checked out a "new" book from our local library and was pleasantly surprised to find that it handled family history and the passing down of traditions in such a lovely way. Titled Homeplace by Anne Shelby and illustrated by Wendy Anderson Halperin, Orchard Books, New York, 1995, 2000...here is one review from the back cover: '"The customs and domestic details of each era--from 1810 to 1995--are portrayed impeccably"--Starred review, Publishers Weekly' This would be a wonderful tool to introduce the children (and grandchildren!) to the love of family traditions and preserving the past. Just wanted to pass it along to some of my fellow genealogy enthusiasts! Blessings, Valerie (Stoddard) Curren ValerieCurren@aol.com
