    2. Pamela K. Swiler
    3. The Ionia County Genealogical Society has a full schedule of events for this month's regular meeting, which will be held on Saturday, June 8th at 1:00 p.m. First, immediately following the business meeting, Carole Callard of the Library of Michigan in Lansing will speak on Canadian Research. Those present will learn how and where to look for ancestors who came from or through Canada on their way to the United States. Carole has a vast knowledge of the subject and often speaks at statewide events. Once Carole has completed her program, Lori Fox, of Portland, will hold a workshop at the Lake Odessa Depot Museum located next to Lake Manor Apartments on Emerson Street in Lake Odessa. Lori will help those who want to complete their applications for the First Families of Ionia County Society. The deadline for this year's applications is September 1st and Lori will take attendees step-by-step through the process. Another event taking place at the ICGS meeting is a "NO-BAKE, BAKE SALE" this event requires that each person brings a recipe that will be used in a future cookbook for the society. In addition, they donate the amount of money it would cost if they actually baked the item for a bake sale. No cooking is done proceeds will go towards the building of the Lake Odessa Freight House, which will be the future home of the Ionia County Genealogical Society as well as many other historical artifacts belonging to the Lake Odessa Historical Society. For more information, contact Pam Swiler, President of Ionia County Genealogical Society at (616) 374-3141.
