    1. Surnames being researched
    2. Bruce Robertson
    3. Hello to all; I am currently researching several surnames that seem to pop up with regularity in the Ionia county area, ROBERTSON, BENJAMIN, GEE, HENDERSON are the primary ones. If there are any out there who have information on the Alexander ROBERTSON family of the City of Ionia, County of Ionia, during the period beginning about 1915 to 1945, I would be glad to hear from you. Alexander ROBERTSON (be) 7-19-1876, Pewamo, Michigan, Father , James Hay ROBERTSON, Mother , Eutencia Caroline HENDERSON. Alexander was reported to have been a banker of the Ionia county area during the early part of the 1900's, although I have no idea as to the name of the Bank. He was married to Maud WYMAN, Dec. of 1896. Thank you, and I hope to be hearing from you all in the near future . Bruce Robertson

    1. Researching Wright family
    2. Bob Denison
    3. I believe that William Jefferson Wright moved from Saginaw Michigan to Ionia sometime between 1854 and 1861. I also think he married a Mary Utpon during that time frame. Does anyone have any information on either of these individuals or their families? _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

    3. I have a lot of pictures from East Sebewa and West Sebewa Cemetaries. I am still working on getting over to Lakeside Cemetary and Portland Cemetary, but I can send what I have. Names I have pictures of tombstones are ... Daniels, Ingall (I have a few pictures - different views - of the cool Tree Stump stone for the Ingall family), Stambaugh, and Karrar. I have the negatives to these, or I can send them scanned in email, whichever would be easier for you. (I have the negatives to only half of them, on one set I used a Polaroid camera.) I believe I have negatives for West Sebewa only, the East Sebewa I do not have Negatives, but I could scan those ones. Peace - Meriah ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today! 1. Cemetery Pictures
    2. Teresa Sweet
    3. Hi everyone! The Ionia co. Genealogical Society has been working on updateing transcriptions of grave stones in Ionia co. We have the cemeteries in Sebewa and Odessa Twps. done and are working on going to the cemeteries in Campbell twp. This is a very big project and so much fun. What I am asking is that if anyone has a picture of any graves in Ionia Co. if you would please send them to me. I will take scanned images by e-mail or pictures by regular snail mail. We are compiling a book for the ICGS library. Guess who is in charge! Anyway, as another of our wonderful projects to help genealogist on thier research for Ionia Co. Any help is appreciated. Also, I do take pictures for researchers of cemeteries in Ionia Co. and some Montcalm Co. cemeteries. Let me know if you have a request. I do these in black and white unless there is a very colorful stone. Remember, it still is muddy, snowy weather here in Michigan and I do have a full time job, so I may have to wait until June-August to get them but will do my best to get them ASAP. Take Care! 3. Hi everyone! Finally I have scanned another scrapbook. I do have the images of this on disk. More than willing to send. This is the scrapbook of Lydia M. Peabody Stinchcomb. She is the daughter of Frederick and Mary Richardson Pebody. She was born 9/28/1878 and married Monroe Stinchcomb on 10/3/1894. They resided in the Sunfield/Sebewa area. Some articles are not dated. I have no idea which papers they came from. Spelling is based on how article spells the name. But I am sure they will help someone! Take Care! Teresa Leak Sweet V. P., Ionia Co. 3. In answer to your question, yes, there is a site. It is as follows: http://www.rootsweb.com/~miionia/cemeteri.htm You need to know that these have not been updated since the 1970's, but the Ionia County Genealogical Society is working hard to change that. We have been working on Odessa Township cemeteries in Ionia County and have a plan to do the whole county. Happy Hunting!
