I had gone to the library last week and was actually pretty disappointed with what I could find based on what I had. I can tell you that birth records go from 1867-1915. There are no marriage records between 1922-1924, 1926-1950, and none past 1969. Deaths 1867-1914, 1971-1996, They have a TON of records on microfiche, but the thing about that is that they are sorted by Michigan COUNTY, then by the year. So really...unless you want to spend WEEKS going through all of it, you really need to have somewhere to start. Then once you get into the microfiche, it is generally sorted by month of incident. I found birth records to only give the name of the child...there are no parents listed (at least in the ones I found). I thought, "well, I already HAVE this information so what good are these to me??!!". Do you have specific information? If not, you might want to contact the vital records office in Lansing on MLK Blvd. They are right up the street from me. They charge, but they will do the searches AND give you a hardcopy of the document. Let me know if I can do anything else for you! :) Carrie!
