Surnames: Dailey Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hFB.2ACE/1713 Message Board Post: Dear Fellow Researchers: I am searching for Dan Dailey or possibly Dan J. Dailey. He was born in aAbout 1872 in Cavan County, Ireland. I found him in the 1910, 1920, and 1930 US Fed Census for Michigan, Ingham, Lansing. He was married to Anna Ziegler, daughter of Gottlieb and Elizabeth Barley. Anna was born in 1869 in Michigan and died in 1905. Dan's and Anna's children are Florence Ann Dailey (b. 1896 in Lansing, MI d. 1972 in San Mateo County, California). Hugh Daily was born 1903 in Lansing MI and died of TB in Arizona at a sanitarian possibly. I am looking for Dan's death record, his father, mother, and any siblings. Note I have a wealth of information on Anna Ziegler and her line. Of particular interest is who is the Margaret Toolan and Alice Toolan who cared for Florence when Anna Ziegler Daily, her mother, died and she was eleven years old? There seems to be a strong family with surnames like Toolan, Boland, Taylor and Early who helped her. Any help will be greatly appreciated. My sincere thanks, Lori Hefner

    3. Hi Lori, I recognized most of the names you listed because I've taken pictures of their tombstones for the MI Tombstone Project. Unfortunately, I have yet to take one of any Daileys but I have of Ziegler, Toolan, Boland, Taylor and Early. You can see them at http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/michigan/ingham.htm. Zieglers are at the Evergreen Cemetery but not a Gottlieb or Elizabeth but possibly they are related. There is a photo too of Charles Ziegler himself along with his headstone. The Toolans, Boland, Taylor, and Earlys are located at the Mount Hope cemetery. I have not posted the Toolans & a couple of the Taylors yet but will try to do so by this weekend. I have Margaret's tombstone and I think Alice whose married name is Gleason. She is buried near the Toolan family monument. The cemetery office may have more info on them. I still have quite a few photos to post and it is possible I have a Dailey but I'm not certain. When going to the Tombstone website make sure to click on both the text & description link along with the photo link. Under the text link I will also list all the tombstones that I found near the family monument. Hope this helps or leads you down the right path.
