Age 75, Of Bradenton, FL, and formerly of Port Clinton, OH Died Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Cottage Cove, Oak Harbor, OH. She was born on May 24, 1930 in Lansing, MI to John and Mary (Postlewait) Blake. On March 12, 1949 in Angola, IN, she married Alonzo B. Kendall, and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2001. Irene was a 5th grade teacher for Bataan Elementary School for 25 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. Irene was a liturgical artist, a member of the Altar Rosary Society, a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and a Eucharistic Minister. Through the church she taught CCD classes for 5-7 years, RCIA, line dancing, and water aerobics. Survivors include daughters, Celia "Cees" Kendall of Anaheim, CA, Denise (Donald) Nieman of Port Clinton, OH, Susan (Jim) Hayden of Holbrook, AZ, Linda (Randy) Ontko of Phoenix, AZ, and Laurie (Dick) Vrabcak of Hendersonville, TN; son, Alan (Kae) Kendall of Tyler, TX; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-gran! dchildren; and sister, Isabel Richardson, of Jacksonville, FL. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Gail Olvitt, Louis Olvitt, Leo Olvitt and John Blake; and sisters, Mary Stanley and June Mello. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted by Father Raymond Ensman at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006, where there will be visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. Visitation will be conducted from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, OH 43452 (419.732.3121), and one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. The family suggests that memorial contributions, in Irene's name, be given to the Immaculate Conception School.
