I've "rescued" an old photograph of Angelo SNOW which is contained in the original leather union case. The photograph does not indicate where it was taken, however, a note inside the case states the following: Angelo SNOW was born Dec 25 1858 Aged 9 months when this picture was taken The case is in two pieces but never the less it is a beautiful family treasure that needs to be returned to its rightful place with family. Based on limited research I believe that I have been able to trace this SNOW Family from Ohio to Michigan. In the 1860 census the family was living in Brighton, OH with census records indicating the following information: Horatio SNOW, age 54, born in MA Electa SNOW, age 54, born in MA Augusta SNOW, age 26, born in OH William SNOW, age 25, a Farmer, born in OH Henry SNOW, age 21, born in OH Sybil SNOW, age 18, born in OH Ann SNOW, age 22, born in OH (wondering if this might be a wife to William?) Angelo SNOW, age 2, born in OH Effie SNOW, age 4 months, born in OH Dennis FOLEY, age 19, a Laborer, born in Ireland Sarah RASKUS, age 13, born in OH In 1870 the family is living in Rives, Michigan with census records providing the following information: Henry SNOW, age 31, a Farmer, born in OH Sybil SNOW, age 28, Keeping House, born in OH William SNOW, age 36, a Farm Laborer, born in OH Angelo SNOW, age 12, a Farm Laborer, born in OH Martha SNOW, age 7, born in OH Clyde SNOW, age 5, born in OH Electa SNOW, age 65, living with Son, born in MA Neither Ann SNOW nor Effie SNOW appear with the family, however, two additional children appear leading me to think that William's wife may have passed along with the young baby Effie sometime between 1860 and 1870. In 1880 Angelo SNOW is not living with his family; instead he is living with the family of James & Isabel PEEK in Rives, MI where he is a Farm Laborer. Census records include the following information regarding Angelo: Angelo SNOW, age 22, born in OH, a Farm Laborer, parents born in OH In 1900 I find Angelo SNOW with a family living in Alaiedon, MI with census records providing the following information: Angelo SNOW, age 42, born Dec 1858, married 10 years, born in OH, parents born in OH, a Farm Laborer Myrtle SNOW, wife, age 28, born Sept 1871, married 10 years, 1 child/1 living, born in MI, parents born in PA/OH Gary SNOW, son, age 6, born Nov 1893, born in MI Then in 1910 Angelo and his family have moved to Delhi, MI with census records providing the following information: Angelo SNOW, age 51, married 19 years, born in OH, parents born in OH, Railroad Laborer Myrtle SNOW, wife, age 38, married 19 years, 1 child/1 living, born in MI, parents born in PA/OH Gary A. SNOW, son, age 16, born in MI Then finally in 1920 both Angelo and his son are living near each other in Delhi, MI with census records reporting the following information about the two separate households: Angelo SNOW, age 59, born in OH, parents born in OH, Car Barn Laborer Myrtle SNOW, wife, age 48, born in MI, parents born in PA/OH Garry SNOW, age 26, born in MI, parents born in OH/MI, Auto Factory Laborer Rose SNOW, wife, age 28, born in MI, parents born in Ireland I'm hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of family.
