By 1837, my g-g-grandfather Thomas S. Riggs was born in New York and Abner is there with wife/kids 1840 census Auburn, Cayuga, NY. They then traveled to MD for 1850-1870 censuses. I feel there is a connection in these families because of the Abner name, as well as other similarities. Have you happened upon another Abner b 1807 in your studies? Thanks in advance for any info.
