Thanks to a very generous list member from Mason, Ingham Co., MI, I now have pictures of the burial site of Hiram CONVERSE and Dearsa SMITH CONVERSE, Section A of Maple Grove Cemetery. Hiram CONVERSE -- b. 8 Mar 1798, Bridport, Addison Co., VT; d. 17 Sep 1859, Mason, Vevay Township, Ingham Co., MI; son of Alfred CONVERSE and Phoebe ELITHORPE. Dearsa, wife of H. CONVERSE -- b. 2 Jan 1806, possibly at Shoreham, Addison Co., VT; d. 29 Jun 1840, Mason, Vevay Township, Ingham Co., MI. I estimate that Hiram CONVERSE & Dearsa SMITH m. abt 1824-26, possibly in Shoreham, Addison Co., VT. It's possible that Dearsa SMITH's family was from Shoreham. Hiram and Dearsa were living in Shoreham in 1830. I would like to learn the names of her parents. Dearsa SMITH d. in 1840. I'd like to know if she was the first person buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason, MI.
