I now have the Charles M. Taintor Genealogy Book & know the history of Daniel's parents (my history). I know Daniel's parents lived in Batavia, Genesee County, N.Y., but am searching for his wife's family, Polly Godfrey. In Batavia there is a Miriam Godfrey listed beneath Benj. Tainter's family and since Daniel & Polly named one daughter Miriam, I believe there may be a connection. They married in Washtenaw County, MI on May 29th, 1832, returned to Erie County, N.Y., but moved back to MI before 1846, where Daniel died in March 1846. Polly & children are listed in the 1850 Census (either Rives or Tompkins, MI) in 1850 with their name spelled "Tinter". I, also, bought the Burgess Bible from a person who was auctioning it on eBay. Eliza Burgess married Erving Taintor & they had 10 children. I sent the Bible to a ?X great grandson in AZ, but made scanned copies of the pages. If not for Erving Taintor, I would not have known our connection to Charles M. Taintor or my history. I am so glad Erving took the time to write that letter & record my family's history. Thank you for your reply. I have posted as much as possible on the Taintor/Tainter family to help others & it's always nice to know when it has been read. There are not many Taintor's left. I looked at the Genealogy.com forum & not much as been added since I last viewed the entries there. Sincerely, Marilyn
