    1. [MIINGHAM] Re: George W. Crocker (b. 1800)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Crocker, Purdy, McKrill, Post Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hFB.2ACE/956.1 Message Board Post: David, I am sorry to say I do not know about George W Crocker in New York except Familysearch.org lists him as George Washington Crocker with a daughter Polly J Crocker. Polly J is my husband's 3G grandmother. Polly married Nelson Purdy. 1860 Census Aurelius Twp, Ingham Co, MI Nelson Purdy 26 yrs, Polly J 24 years, Alice 4 years, and Charles (I think, but it's hard to read), age 1 But by the 1870 Census 3rd Ward of Lansing, Ingham Co, MI, Nelson Purdy is married to Catherine, Alice 13 yrs, and James Post 8 yrs. I went through the Purdy deaths for Ingham Co and did not find Polly Purdy or a Charles Purdy (with those parents) listed. So there may have been a divorce. Nelson and Polly L Purdy's daughter Alice married Charles McKrill (also spelled MacKerel) on March 17, 1872 at Lansing, MI. Children Maude b. 3/27/1873 Lansing, MI d. 10/17/1883 Grand Rapids, MI Claude b. 2/12/1875 Lansing, MI d. 3/6/2937 Sparta, MI Charles and Alice McKrill were divorced and Alice took back the name of Purdy. Alice married Joseph C Craig (b. 1857 Norris St Lawrence NY) on 9/29/1886. I have been trying to trace Alice Purdy McKrill Craig. Some facily members remember visiting Grandpa Claude McKrill's mother near their home on the west side of Grand Rapids. The dear lady was ill and died soon after. Do you know of any Crockers that lived in or around Grand Rapids? Or do you have any information about Alice? Thanks for any help you can give. Nancy Burns
