Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hFB.2ACE/1715 Message Board Post: Dear MMGS member, Has March been passing quickly for you? The 4th Wed is just a week away! The MMGS Wed. March. 22 meeting will be at the Plymouth Congregational Church, 2001 E. Grand River, Lansing. We voted at the February meeting to make this our home for all of our future meetings. This is the same church that was the location of our 35th anniversary dinner in Nov. 2002. There is parking in the rear of the building. You can get to the parking from Wood Street or Fairview Street. Remember E. Grand River is a one way street heading west towards the center of Lansing. The church is located west of Frandor. A detailed MapQuest map is available at: http://www.msu.edu/user/pfaff/ChurchMap.pdf Another map locating the church in relationship to the Valley Ct. Community Center is available at: http://www.msu.edu/user/pfaff/ChurchMap.jpg Please pass the news on to other MMGS members and guests. Cyntha Theusch reports that the program will be a video by George Schweitzer. He was the entertaining historian/genealogist that gave a presentation about the Civil War at the banquet during the jointly sponsored seminar by MMGS and the MI Gen. Council in Lansing many years ago. The Wed. March 22 meeting will start at 7:00 pm. Guests are always welcome. Hope to see you there, Judy Pfaff PS Please pass on this reminder to any members who are not on e-mail.

Dailey. He was born in about 1872 in Cavan County, Ireland. I found him in the 1910, 1920, and 1930 US Fed Census for Michigan, Ingham, Lansing. He was married to Anna Ziegler, daughter of Gottlieb and Elizabeth Barley on May 17, 1893 in Lansing, Ingham Michigan. Anna was born in 1869 in Michigan and died in 1905. The www.familysearch.org states that Daniel’s parents are James J. Dailey and Mary Hagen. There are no sources given so I cannot analyze the quality of this information. Dan's and Anna's children are Florence Ann Dailey (b. 1896 in Lansing, MI d. 1972 in San Mateo County, California). Hugh Daily was born 1903 in Lansing MI and died of TB in Arizona at a sanitarian possibly. I am looking for Dan's death record, his father, mother, and any siblings. Note I have a wealth of information on Anna Ziegler and her line. Of particular interest is who is the Margaret Toolan and Alice Toolan who cared for Florence when Anna Ziegler Daily, her mother, died and she was eleven years old? There seems to be a strong family with surnames like Toolan, Boland, Taylor and Early who helped her. Any help will be greatly appreciated. My sincere thanks, Lori Hefner
Hi Lori, I recognized most of the names you listed because I've taken pictures of their tombstones for the MI Tombstone Project. Unfortunately, I have yet to take one of any Daileys but I have of Ziegler, Toolan, Boland, Taylor and Early. You can see them at http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/michigan/ingham.htm. Zieglers are at the Evergreen Cemetery but not a Gottlieb or Elizabeth but possibly they are related. There is a photo too of Charles Ziegler himself along with his headstone. The Toolans, Boland, Taylor, and Earlys are located at the Mount Hope cemetery. I have not posted the Toolans & a couple of the Taylors yet but will try to do so by this weekend. I have Margaret's tombstone and I think Alice whose married name is Gleason. She is buried near the Toolan family monument. The cemetery office may have more info on them. I still have quite a few photos to post and it is possible I have a Dailey but I'm not certain. When going to the Tombstone website make sure to click on both the text & description link along with the photo link. Under the text link I will also list all the tombstones that I found near the family monument. Hope this helps or leads you down the right path. So i have to assume the parents had died. If anyone is able to do look ups for death information or has the phone number to a libary that is able to look up such information, please let me know.
