I agree with Susan as to the (state) Library Of Michigan is the best in the Lansing area for overall genealogical material. Also though, the downtown Lansing City Library (Capitol Area District Library-Main Branch), has a microfilm scanning machine so you can put anything you find from a LANSING paper onto a CD or Disk. Something the state library doesn't have. Below is a link to their website with a map. Timothy http://www.cadl.org/hours_locations/MN.htm P.S. If you wish, you can send the names and dates for the obits you want, and I'll find and send them to ya.

    3. A question for list members researching Aurelius Twp: What newspapers would have been serving Aurelius Twp in the late 1940's? I found an obit for my great-grandfather in the Lansing paper --- but someone sent me a more detailed obit. from "...an Aurelius paper at the library...." It is dated 12 Mar 1949, but doesn't give the paper's name. Thank you. Sally (Bolster) Holcombe sallyholcombe@mac.com

The Library has a wonderful collection of genealogy resources. The Library is located at 717 West Allegan Street in downtown Lansing; second floor. The other end of the building is a great museum, too. The Library has the Lansing State Journal on microfilm, as well as newspapers from other localities. Susan
