The time and location don't seem right but... mine are buried in grand haven city cemetery. Anna was married to Frank Francis and Alfred was my mothers uncle. Anna was my mothers grandmother. Frank was much older than Anna, by at laest 20 years and he was also said to be black, but no one "talks" about that. I am sure he must have been because i can see it in some members of my family. Let me know if it sounds like we could have a link Elaine

The heat seems to have affected my brain. Marion Marie SNELL did marry Court Atwood KLOPP from Pinconning, MI. They were married on 4 Oct 1914 in Turner Township. I have been able to trace her back to the 1920 Census she was in Bay City at the time and married. Other than that all I have is her birth date and place, outside of her parent’s names. What I’m trying to determine is her mother’s maiden name. I hope that if a birth certificate can be located it will give me the answer I’m looking for. Thank you for your response. I had always heard stories about the house and am trying to obtain some information regarding when it was built etc. I do know I can get alot of info from the property appraisers, but I currently live in Florida and the online access is limited. There are several stories I grew up hearing about the house. I've heard that the house was relocated when 127 was built, that the staircase in the front hall was once in a courthouse. I always wondered where it was originally built and moved from. If I remember correctly the address was 1871. It was the first house heading north after the Barnes Rd exit. I appreciate any information. Thank you, Angela

Surnames: KLOPP / SNELL / DERSHEM / BENJAMIN Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hFB.2ACE/1760 Message Board Post: I have received new conflicting information now on my elusive Marion Marie SNELL of Kalamazoo. I have been trying to determine her surname but have had no luck yet. Her death certificate lists her mother as being Ida Mae and father as Edward SNELL. But on her SS-5 she lists her mother as Clara (unknown). I am leaning toward the info on the SS-5 for obvious reasons. Her death certificate info would have been to say the least third handed info at best. Her birth is continually listed as 16 Sep 1893, Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. After searching more I have found that the Birth index of 1873-1915 is available only at the Library of Michigan, Lansing. Is there any one available that is willing to do a look up for me? I am willing to pay for the research, copies etc. I live in Las Vegas, NV so it is a little difficult for me to do it myself. Marion Marie SNELL Father: Edward SNELL Mother: Clara (unknown) Birth: 16 Sep 1893, Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan Thank you in advance… Bonnie-Jo
