He had been a life long resident of Lansing; a member of the Judson Memorial Baptist Church and was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Army. He was a professional meat cutter since 1945 having been associated with the Market Basket, National Food Stores and retiring from A & P Stores. Surviving are wife, Irene; 2 sons, John of Tulsa, OK, James of Flushing; 3 step-sons, Gary Howell of Holt, Thomas and Carl Howell, both of Mason; 12 grandchildren, sister, Margaret Hildreth of Holt; brother J. I have been able to find the death date for Elizabeth for October 12, 1871 in Alaiedon Twp., Ingham Co., but I can't find the cemetery she is buried in. Samuel died after her and I can not find a death date for him. Last known place of residence was Samuels oldest daughter and her husband which was Pitt Barnes and Mary Jane HONEY/BARNES in Alaiedon, Ingham, in the 1880 census.Samuels other daughter, Bina was also living with Samuel and her sisters place at that time.
