    1. [MIINGHAM] Walter W. WEEKS, 1895 -- picture of
    2. Jerry Holcombe
    3. I found the following in the Reference Directory of Ingham Co., MI -- 1895 (This is a plat map book with a directory in the back. I found it at the Ingham Co. Genealogical Society reading room, Mason Library) "Weeks, W.W., County Superintendent of Schools, Mason, 1851" ("1851" refers to the year he first lived in Ingham Co. which was the year he was born). Walter Whitney WEEKS (1851-1915) was my g-grandfather. He and my g-grandmother, Sara Emma CHILD WEEKS (1858-1929) are buried at Maple Grove Cem., Mason, Ingham Co., MI. I'm wondering if anyone on the list would have an idea how I could get a picture of him -- perhaps one taken in his official capacity while he was Ingham County Superintendent of Schools? I am very willing to pay all costs. Best Regards, Sally BOLSTER HOLCOMBE [email protected] Walnut Creek, California

Surnames: Potter, Hall, Horton Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hFB.2ACE/1012 Message Board Post: Looking for any info of Cyrus M Potter born in 1902 in Michigan, to the parents of Ambrose Potter and Jennie Burgess. In 1910 he is found in the Ohio census for Lucas co. listed with mother and step father Milan Jubb. I do know that he was in Michigan in 1922 around the Lansing area, as he had a son in the year with Ethel Laguire. Sometime after that Ethel and Cyrus got divorced and Cyrus went south according to family. He had his son Gerald with, but sometime while Gerald was a kid he came to live with his grandmother in Lansing. And had never heard from his father. Since he was so young, could not recall exactly where Cyrus lived, but he believes that Cyrus had remarried and had more kids. On Gerald birth cert. it list Cyrus occupation as a musicain. Some where along the line someone thinks that Cyrus passed away in the 60s, unsure where that info came from, or how reliable it is. Any info on the gentleman, be very thankful. PLEASE email me. Thanks, Michelle [email protected]

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hFB.2ACE/1007 Message Board Post: I recently purchased a Victorian studio photograph (Cabinet Portraits) of “Charles Gay Casterlin – president of class of 1896, Mason High School” from an antique dealer in northern Illinois. I enjoy buying lovely old pictures like these in antique shops and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with people who will treasure them. There is no Casterlin board as such, so I am posting these on the Ingham Co., MI board since Charles Gay Casterlin’s photo was taken in Mason, and I hope someone will see it here and relate. The photo was certainly taken in 1896, and it was taken by the Van Slyke Studio “Ground Floor”, Mason, Mich. Handwritten next to the information given above is “age 19”, which then tells me that Charles was born about 1877. He has medium dark hair and eyes, and is a handsome young man. The picture is 4-¼” x 6-½”, and is an original, on heavy card stock, as was typical during that time period. It is in excellent condition. If Charles is in your family or if you can help pinpoint the Casterlins of Ingham Co., please Email me directly at [email protected]
