Parker and wife Bertha M. (Wiggins) Parker along with her brothers, David E. Wiggins and Vern E. Wiggins. I would like to find a marriage record for David E. Wiggins to Alice or Olive (last name unknown). The marriage could have either been in Ingham County or Genesee County sometime between 1910 and 1915. I would also like to locate records regarding their parents. I have the father's name as Thomas Wiggins born in Canada about 1862, moved to United States in 1885. He was never naturalized. Both of his parents were born in Ireland. I've done alot of research online for US records, but never foreign records. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated. Questions: 1. For a marriage in Michigan in the time period of 1910 - 1915, would I write to the county or the state for the record? 2. How do I obtain birth records from Canada? Would there have been birth records required in 1862? How would I be able to narrow down what part of Canada he was born in? 3. How do I obtain a marriage record from Canada if one exists? 4. Are there any other options besides the birth record and the marriage record to find out his Thomas's parent's names? Thank you!

Here are some details on Hiram Haynes. He was born in 1825 in N Y. Came to Michigan when he was twelve. His parents were Reuben and Maria Haynes. Hiram was one of five children. He lived and worked in Wisconsin for four yrs. He came back to Ingham county, Mich. where he evientually owned 240 acres. He was a farmer. He married Sarah Worden when he was 25, and they had nine children all together. They lost four children and had 5 living children. Morris was the oldest. He managed a good deal of his father's farm. Hiram had Indians living close to his home. He knew them and took them food. They were never hostile to hime or his family,. In fact, the Indians gave to Hiram one of their own babies to raise as his own. Apparently Sarah Haynes did not like having an Indian child to raise. She and Hiram were DIVORCED by 1880. Sarah and the 5 children are listed on the 1870 census, but by 1880, she was living with Morris and Hiram had remarried a woman named Cl! ara and none of his children were living at home. There was a little girl named Ella Thorp living there. Stepchild? Anyway, Harry Haynes(the Indian child) named after a relative?, was sent to live with J. Morris Haynes in Clio, Michigan. This is on the 1880 census of Clio, Mich. Morris and Mary Geer Haynes are listed as Harry's parents on his death cert. Can you check any records about Hiram Haynes's land records and find out about any Indians that lived on his land around 1877, when Harry Haynes was born.. Thanks and God bless.
I've "rescued" an old photograph album including a photograph of Katherine LAHMAN taken in 1895 when she was 10 months of age at the Sharpsteen Studio in Grand Rapids or Lansing, Michigan. In addition to her name someone has "Mary and Carrie ANDERSON" on the back of the photograph. Since other photographs in the album belonged to the ANDERSON family I'm assuming that this photograph was a gift to Mary and Carrie ANDERSON. Other photographs in the album belong to the following families: DEVILE GRAVES RUNYAN SHANTZ ANDERSON JACOBSON With photographs originating from: Malta, Illinois Chicago, Illinois Franklin Grove, Illinois Grand Rapids or Lansing, Michigan Amboy, Illinois Dixon, Illinois I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old album can be returned to its rightful place with the family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Collingwood, 1 May 1860 - 24 Feb 1937 Harriet Thomas Collingwood, 10 July 1861 - 25 Mar 1921 They lived near MSU. He was a circuit court judge and state senator, if that helps at all. Thank you! I had gone to the library last week and was actually pretty disappointed with what I could find based on what I had. I can tell you that birth records go from 1867-1915. There are no marriage records between 1922-1924, 1926-1950, and none past 1969. Deaths 1867-1914, 1971-1996, They have a TON of records on microfiche, but the thing about that is that they are sorted by Michigan COUNTY, then by the year. So really...unless you want to spend WEEKS going through all of it, you really need to have somewhere to start. Then once you get into the microfiche, it is generally sorted by month of incident. I found birth records to only give the name of the child...there are no parents listed (at least in the ones I found). I thought, "well, I already HAVE this information so what good are these to me??!!". Do you have specific information? If not, you might want to contact the vital records office in Lansing on MLK Blvd. They are right up the street from me. They charge, but they will do the searches AND give you a hardcopy of the document. Let me know if I can do anything else for you! :) Carrie!

I am trying to find out about Hiram Haynes of Williamston, Michigan in Ingham county. He had a tremendous farm with at least 300 acres at one time. He was very friendly and kind to the Native Americans that camped close to his home. Hiram had lost 4 children in infancy and the Indians gave him one of their own to raise. His wife, Sarah, apparently did not like the idea and the child was given to Hiram's brother, J. Morris Haynes in Clio, Mich. The child was named Harry Haynes and was raised white. I am wondering if Harry, MY GRANDFATHER, was sent to one of those "Indian schools" or where he went. He married my grandmother, Myrtle Rose Keeney in Lawrence county, Ohio. I am trying to find the Native parents of Harry. Hiram probably knew the names of the Indians who lived close to him. If you find anything, please e-mail me. Thank you so much and God bless. Victoria
