Bessemer Herald (Bessemer, Michigan) 1902 December 13 Samuel Powell was placed on trial at Houghton on a charge of bigamy and convicted and sentenced to three years in the penitentiary, the jury having been out three minutes. Powell had desterted his wife and child in Cornwall and married Mrs Willisams in Calumet a year ago leaving his wife destitute.
