John born Nov 1863, 36, single, born Canada, immigrated 1884, Physician. Belle born Jan 1976, age 24, single, born Canada, immigrated 1884, school teacher. Colleen, Thanks. All of the McLean children seemed to leave Scotland right after the 1851 census. Jane MacLean MacRae had another daughter, Jane, who died in the Newberry State Hospital in 1933. I assumed that was a mental hospital as, according to family lore, she was 'a bit strange.' The DC says that she lived in Laurium. She is buried with her mother. (I have sent for her mother's DC, although I don't think there is much doubt about her being my gr-grandmother's younger sister.) It is interesting that the date of immigration doesn't match the one you sent me last night. I wonder if John might have come to Michigan to go to school, then gone back to Canada for his internship or whatever doctor's did back then. Marion
