    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Truwella, Sandow, Reuther, Studemeier, Verdon Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/2FB.2ACI/1937 Message Board Post: I am looking for any information on the following families. My g-grandmother, Mary Wilhelmina Reuther was born in Calumet, Houghton, Michigan on 5-23-1869. Her parents were Jacob Reuther and Henrietta Studemeier. Both were born in Germany, likely in Berlin. I believe they went first to Quebec, Canada and then came to Michigan for work. They eventually went back to Quebec, probably to Montreal. They had several children in Calumet, though. Augusta, Henrietta Clara (Clara), Fredrick and William H. All of them were born somewhere between 1869 and 1880. There may have been more. I am also looking for info on my other g-grandmother, Emma Jane Trewella, who was born in Cornwall, England in January 1861. She came to the US about 1873. She married a man with the last name Sandow, and they had a daughter named Laura in Michigan in January 1884. Emma married my g-grandfather, Noah (Noe) Verdon about 1886 probably in Houghton or Osceola County, Michigan. My grandfather, John Francis Verdon was born in Calumet on 9-4-1895.

    3. Are you sure on the immigration date? She came with her family when she was 12? I actually can find a person of suitable name and age in Cornwall census. .. note the servant... Perhaps a relative anyway, or if you are using the immigration date from the 1900 census, those are frequently wrong. Could easily immigrate and marry, after 1881 census, and still have a child in 1884 Linda Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Age Birthplace Occupation Disability John EDWARDS Head M Male 37 Ludgvan, Cornwall, England Farmer Of 40 Acres Employing 1 Man Jane EDWARDS Wife M Female 36 Zennor, Cornwall, England Farmers Wife Jane G.
