Hi, everybody. I just came across a single page of a letter my mother saved. (See what happens when you clean up.) It refers to "Locke MacRae who passed on about two weeks ago." I have his DC for 1954. Locke (Lachlin) was the brother of Dr. Alex McRae who died in an accident in 1901 in Osceola Twshp.. According to the letter, there must have been another brother, John, who had a daughter, Lucia. (Knowing the Scots, Lucia is probably a nickname for something.) I think that John was also a doctor. For all of you wonderful people who have been so helpful, could you possibly find John McRae? I believe they were all born in Canada. TIA Marion Markham

Hi Marion, found John MacRae, M.D. in The Northern Peninsula of Michigan book that I have, it states he has a daughter Lucia. Here is the important info from the book: He arrived in Lake Linden on October 12, 1879. He was 18 years old at the time. He was born in Bruce county Ontario on November 12, 1861. He was married in Hartford Connecticut to Eunice C. Jennison on April 12, 1901. At the time of the article they had 2 children: Allan A. and Lucia J. Will try to get the article typed up tomorrow. 1910 has them in Calumet township: M?Rae Dr. John age 48, married 9 years, born Canada, parents born Scotland, immigrated in 1879, naturalized. Physician at copper mine, owns free a house. Eunice age 41, born Vermont, parents born Vermont. Allan A. age 8, born MI. Lucia J. age 5, born MI. Jennison Mary D. sister in law, age 43, born Vermont, trained nurse, private. Lahti Emmi servant, age 22, born Finland.
