I prefer the Delaware Copper Mine Tour to the Quincy tour. The Quincy tour is more fancy and has a nicer view, but the Delaware tour is more representative of what most of the mines looked like. You can also see the Keweenaw fault line inside of the Delaware shaft and there is a pet skunk at the gift shop. --- On Wed, 4/22/09, Martin, Joseph <MartinJo@lewisu.edu> wrote: From: Martin, Joseph <MartinJo@lewisu.edu> Subject: Re: [MIHOUGHT] Calumet Visit To: mihought@rootsweb.com Date: Wednesday, April 22, 2009, 6:35 PM I was there last summer. If I recall well, I had to call and make an appointment at the court house. They have limited space and only allow a few researchers at one time. Also check the hours at the MTU Archives, since they vary by day of the week. The volunteers there are very helpful.
