This is my first venture into Michigan and any help or suggestions would be great. Found this marriage on http://www.mfhn.com/keweenaw/archivestemp/k50003.txt MARRIAGES AT KEWEENAN COUNTY, MICHIGAN 1868 July 29 marr at Eagle River, HENRY KING, both of Clifton, both born England; Ae 30, miner = AGNES BENALLACK, ae 26 , WITS- Wm HAMBLEY of Eagle River & Wm BENNALLACK of Clifton. I believe Agnes may have been Agnes Gilbert, born Lamerton 1839, who married James Holwill Bennallack, born abt 1838, in Tavistock, Devon, England on 16 July, 1861. Would appreciate if someone would know where I can find deaths in this vicinity between 1861 and time of marriage to Henry King in 1868. Here is the 1870 census for Henry and Agnes Source Citation: Year: 1870; Census Place: Marquette, Marquette, Michigan; Roll M593_689; Page: 376; Image: 421. Family Number Surname Given Name Estimated birth year Gender Race Birthplace Add Update 253 King William H abt 1839 Male White England Add Update 253 King Agnes abt 1841 Female White England Add Update 253 King Alberta abt 1868 White Michigan Add Update 253 King John abt 1869 Male White Michigan Would like to find later censuses which might have year of immigration, but so far no luck.
