Mrs Vendla Stone (born Hellman) passed away peacefully in her home in Dollar Bay, Mich., in the morning of December the17th after a long suffering from stomach cancer and tumors. Sister Stone has for many years been a keen advocate of temperance and a member of The Society of "Syskonringen" ("The Sibling Ring") since it was organised. Therefore the grief and the loss is big which could be read in all faces at the Society´s extra meeting held on the 17th of December in the evening. The following resolution was made: It was decided to drape the Society´s charter with a mourning crape for a period of 60 days; to honor the deceased with a beautiful wreath with the Society´s inscription; that all men of the society were to parade from the mourning house to the church and part of the way to the grave whereupon the journey was to continue by horses; and that her photograph with this resolution was to be printed in "Ledstjaernan" (The Leading Star"). By this we would express our grief for her mourning husband and relatives both far and near.
