Hi! Barbara, Thanks for pointing out my error. I was looking for James & Jessie READ & family in 1920 Keweenaw & 1930 Genesse Co. census. Thank you for the 1930 census information. There was a divorce. How interesting! I had assumed she had died when she wasn't in the household in 1930. James & Jessie(HAWKINS) READ came from Hampshire, England. I have yet to locate her uncle, Samuel HAWKINS, who was born in Hampshire in 1848 & went to the U.S. He was an ag. lab. & the family story is he went to Lake Michigan. Many of his siblings settled in Queensalnd, Australia, so he was the odd one out. Thank you for the valuable information you have given me.
