I'm trying to get a handle on my KAHKOLA and BERG lines. I have Hans Emil KAHKOLA's Naturalization papers from Houghton Co. in 1913. I've found a Hannan KAHKOLA on Ancestry's Passenger List, arriving May 20, 1905 in Boston on the Arabic. I figure this to be my Hans. Hans married Ulivia/Olivia BERG Jan. 18, 1908 in Atlantic Mine. Daughter of Nels & Evelina (KONTANEN) BERG. Ulivia/Olivia died in 1924 according to her headstone in South Range. She's buried in the BERG family plot. Hans & 2nd wife Anna are buried in Atlantic Mine. Family lore has it the KAHKOLA name was changed from KUPARI. I have no idea if this is true. But Matti KUPARI was a witness at Hans & Ulivia's marriage. Here's what I need: a date of death for Ulivia KAHKOLA and Nels BERG, his headstone says: 1932, he may have died in Detroit in 1930.
