Does anyone know who was responsible for filing death notices with the counties and state in the year 1901?  We've searched and searched for my grandfather's death certificate and can't find it.  We know he was buried on December 4, 1901 in Lake View Cemetery in Calumet but would like to know when, where and why he died.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
