Hi Jean I would appreciate it if you could find Joseph Wittig (or Witting)(or Wittie) came from the Alsace-Loraine area of Germany betw 1860 and 1875. He had two sons with him and possibly a daughter. Don't know about a wife. If so, her name was either Margaret or Gertrude. Also looking for Franz Michael Schubert, born Lohre Germany 1842, immigrated abt 1865. And Wilhelmina Schnaufer from Magstadt Germany, born 1842 and came to the US in 1865. Any help would be appreciated. I have been looking for my gr. gr. grandfather for a long time because his name is Joannes Jacobus Mueller or Miller or Muller b Nov 1829. He was born in Oetzegen, Nassau, Germany and showed up on records here in Michigan in 1854 as a Godfather at a baptism. Living next to him on the census was a Mathias Miller born @ 1832 Nassau. I'm assuming they came tog. So they came in 1853 or so. Some of the other neighbors arrived in NY on Nov 9, 1853 on the ship Devonshire. Is there anyway you could check on this ship or for a John or Jacob Miller traveling with a Mathias Miller. It's like a needle in the haystack!!!!! Janet Will certainly understand if you don't even want to pursue anything about this!!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jean Junkin" <jjunkin@up.net> To: <MIHOUGHT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, February 17, 2003 1:21 PM Subject: [MIHOUGHT] CD's for Look-ups > I have the Germans to American CD for the years 1850 to 1874. Hi Jean, I just found this message and have already asked for any information about my great grandfather Ernst Fredrith Willhelm Daume. I forgot to ask if you would check for anything about Mathila Reinboth. His wife. She was born in 1841, and had a sister named Rose. I am not sure if she was born in Berlin, Brandenburg, Prussia. She came to the USA with William and 3 children. I know this is a shot in the dark. But .... Thank you for your help and for sharing your CD's with us.
