Hi Peter, I was at the Finlandia archives this morning and did find obits for them both. Because they are in a bound edtion of all the newspapers they cannot be copied. (huge books) I can give you what they stated: Mrs E. Tornquist of Laurium died December 7, 1937 ath her home at 327 Lake Linden Avenue in Laurium after a long illness.She was born in Sweden and came to this district at age 17 and lived here ever since. Surviving are her husband and two daughters, Miss Ruth at home , and Mrs W. R. Bastian of Saginaw. The body is at the Olson Funeral Chapel and will be moved to the home this morning. Thursday April 28, 1949 Ernest E Tornquist , 82,of 327 Lake Linden Avenue, Laurium died this morning at Memorial Hospital after a illness of ten days.He was born in Sweden and came to the Copper Country 62 years ago. He resided in Laurium for 56 years. He was employed at the C&H Blacksmith Shop for 41 years and also as a janitor for the Washington School. He was a member of the Carmel Lutheran Church.Surving are two daughters, Mrs W.R. Bastian of Saginaw, Michigan and Mrs E. H. Stenson of Laurium. I found one Stenson from Calumet who's first name started with an E, this one.My neighbors, Mr and Mrs Otto Stenson lived across the street from me. Otto died and she lives in a Elders home now. Related maybe? Others in the local phone book. I know of one who married a Stenson and she is a volunteer at our local hospital.
