I just want to add a little information about Franklin Mine. My grandparents came from Italy and were married in Franklin Mine, My grandmother worked in a rooming house for miners. My father was born there. (we had a hard time finding his birth certificate) They left and moved to Calumet. My Aunt and my mother were both schoolteachers in Franklin. This was during the copper strike. My Aunt had to leave teaching because she was about to be married, that is when my mother took over her job. I have not been to Franklin and I also have very little information about it. Even tho I am from that area.
