    3. This is probably not much help, but here goes just in case. My gg-grandfather Samuel John CONGDON had a sister Jane who married a MEDLYN in Cornwall. The Congdons were from eastern Cornwall and Plymouth, Devon. Jane was born c.1853 in St. Dominick, Cornwall and she married Edmund MEDLIN, Jr. on 2 July 1874 in the District of Stoke Damerel, Devon while both were living in Devonport. The surname MEDLIN is spelled MEDLYN in my gg-grandfather's journal. Jane MEDLIN (MEDLYN) died in 1945 in Cornwall. Edmund and Jane had at least one daughter named Edith, who married a STRIPLIN and at one point lived at Colvase Gardens in Mehihoyt, Cornwall. Let me know if this ties in with your research.
