Last year I started researching Alma Christina Svensson born 1871 in Sweden. She was my grandfather´s oldest sister and emigrated in 1888 to North America. I found out that she settled down in Calumet, Michigan and married Ernst Emil Tornquist. They had two children, Mildred (born 1895) and Ruth (born 1898), and lived in Calumet in 1922. I also found out that her daughter Mildred married Wilbert Bastian in 1922. Wilbert´s father was Thomas Bastian. He had as far as I know five children; Florence Maud (born 1890), Ella Viola (born 1890), Thomas Walter (born 1893), Wilbert Roy (born 1895) and Edgar Loyd (born 1901). I think that Thomas Bastian came from Camborne in Cornwall, England. Do you know anything of Thomas or Wilbert Bastian or any other connections to William Bastian? /Peter
