Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2FB.2ACI/1873 Message Board Post: I found a relative of mine listed in the 1910 Michigan Census, Houghton County, Torch Lake Township. His trade was a machinist and he worked for a powder company. Could anyone tell me the name of the powder company. Is there any website or book that tells the history of this company? Did Houghton have a county directory in 1910? Thank you.

    3. The Atlas Powder Company had a plant in Senter Location. The MTU Archives has some information about the company. BTW, the museum that Ric is talking about is the Houghton County Historical Museum in Lake Linden.
