My wife's g-g-grandfather was Louis Braun who died in Laurium. I just came across a census page of Sheboygan, WI for 1860 with what I suspect may be the Kohlhaas family in question. If you send me an e-mail address ([email protected]), I can send you the census page if you are interested. I know a long time has gone by so you may already have this information. I suppose a trip to Sheboygan may be worth my time. There are also a whole lot of Braun/Brown families in the 1860 census of Sheboygan, WI.
