Well I am not sure about calumet having any vital records but Houghton houses records at the Houghton County Courthouse in which you can look up Death, Marriage and Naturalization records but you have to call before showing up because they have limited space (906) 482-1150 (is their number). Then, also in Houghton is the MTU Archives and they have polk directories, census, newspapers on microfilm and a whole lot of information and records and there are really nice people to help you find just about anything. Their web page is http://www.lib.mtu.edu/mtuarchives/ Check out what is available at the archives. Houghton is about 12 miles from Calumet.
