St. Armour was arrested Feb. 3 after a neighboring farmer, Ed Vadnais, had been assaulted. Vadnais told Undersherriff , Willilam Eilola and Dep. Sheriff Jos. McNamara that he was clubbed unconscious by someone who sprang at him as he opened his barn door, the officers upon investigating, found snowshoe tracks leading from the Vadnais farm to the St. Armour farm, some distance away. St Armour was arrested and according to the officers, he confessed to the assault. Vadnais is still in critical condition at St. Joseph's hospital where he was rushed immediantely after the attack.
