The daughter of the late Johannes and Olga (Dietz) Mehner was born July 3, 1926, in Calumet, Mich. In 1943, she moved to Elgin, Ill., where she married Gordon Lamp on April 30, 1948. Alice worked for the Elgin Watch Co. for 22 years. The couple moved to Pulaski in 1976. Alice "Shatze" was a wonderful companion and best friend to her husband. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and working alongside Gordon in their garden. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a brother, Herbert Mehner, Calumet, Mich.; and a sister, Margaret Fowler, Hubbell, Mich. She will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, including her three guardian angels, Marlene Wylie, Norm and Mary Riedel, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Eric and Helmuth Mehner and Rudy (Betty) Mehner; two sisters, Hannah (Carl) Riedel and Elizabeth (Ed) Winquist; a sister-in-law, Ella Mehner; and two brothers-in-law, George Drott and Paul Fowler. Friends may call at St. John Lutheran Church, Pulaski after 10 a.m. Saturday. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Alice will be buried in Lake View Cemetery, Calumet, Mich., in the spring. Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski is assisting the family with arrangements.
