Death was due to a heart attack. Mr Pollard was born in England and had been a resident of the Copper Country for 71 years. He was a mining captain at the South Hecla branch of the Calumet and Hecla copper company before his retirement a number of years ago. He was probably the oldest Cornish miner in the district and was widely known throughout the community.
