    2. Hi Jean, Here is from the 1920 census. This is from the whole state of Michigan To type the dots over an "o" like this, ö , on your keyboard when you get to the o, hold down your alt key, and on your keypad on the right side, type in the numbers 0246. The ö appears .With a little practice it gets easier. Type in his name on your web browser and you will get many hits. Alicia -----Original Message----- From: Joseph Martin [mailto:martinjo@lewisu.edu] Sent: Friday, December 06, 2002 9:13 PM To: MIHOUGHT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MIHOUGHT] SIMOWSKI in Calumet in 1900 I am seeking Jan/John SIMOWSKI who came to the U.S. from Poland in December 1894. He appeared in the Houghton County Directories in 1895-1896 and in 1897-1898 boarding with his son Michael in Calumet. He does not appear, however, with his son's family in the 1900 U.S. Census. John's surname has been misspelled as SHONALSKY, SIMOLSKY, SIENNOWSKI, SIMOSKI, SIEMOWSKI, SIEMONSKI, and ZEMOSKI. If anyone on the list has access to records that might help me locate him in 1900 in Calumet, I would be grateful. That might help me find him in the 1900 U.S. Census. 2. Hi Pat, I have Rev.Ilmonens book and i took a look at what he wrote. The Blansfarti name could not be found ANYWHERE on my sites. No such name exists anywhere. I was puzzled as i have not found any misiformation on his writings yet. I looked in Sweden, Finland and nothing. Using the family seach site after a bit of "finnagling" i found a marriage for them in Haaparanda Sweden which is the border town with Lapland Finland. One thing i have learned is when i search for names in Norway or Sweden they have a way of changing the spelling.I posted below thier marriage. by the way, Haparanda Sweden and Tornio, Finland may be changing their name to "Eurocity".One of the worst names i have ever heard! It reminds me too much of the electronic "Europop" music. Karunki parish records only go up to the early 1800's right now on Hiski. They have updates at regular intervals. http://www.genealogia.fi/indexe.htm Alicia ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- EMMA KRISTINA BLANKSVARD Female Family ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Event(s): Birth: Christening: Death: Burial: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Marriages: Spouse: ISAK SALOMONSSON KORVI Family Marriage: 05 MAR 1871 Karl Gustav, Norrbotten, Sweden This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
