    3. I am searching for information on A. R. MacLeod who lived around Hancock, MI in the 1890s. He sent my grandmother a studio photograph of himself and his wife (Christie?). He does not show up on the 1880 census. The photograph was sent to my grandmother before she married my grandfather in 1898. I have heard from two people who claim an A. R. MacLeod in their lines. I don't believe either is the right one but I find it interesting that so many of the MacLeods were known by those two initials. I believe that this A. R. was related to my grandmother through either the MacLean or MacDonald line on Skye. Marion Markham

    3. Hi Mary, It contains the full name, death date, date of burial, age, where buried and who the bill was rendered to and place where person lived. They start in 1911, how far Mr.Peterson will let me go in dates will be determined by him.He did say he had 10-15 more journals for me to do.The one now is 3-1911 to 9-1916. I am only about half way done.None of these records i have seen so far list the birthdate , where born or family.Just who the bill was sent to. Over 95or more percent of these are Scandnavian deaths. I am assuming that from your name and the fact that you live in Michigan, you could be a cousin. I got this info from my grandma. Please email me at mhagenberg@aol.com if you want dates. Mary Pistonetti m. Tom Capello and had three children John, Nick and Anna, Tom did jail time in Joilet Prison and afterwards she married Earnie Columbo. Mary had a brother named Joseph he married Evelyn Menei ? and had three children Albert, Bob and Anna. Mary and Josephs parents were John Pistonetti and Teresa. I will need to check my records but I believe John died in a mining accident and Teresa was blind in one eye. I have a wonderful picture of 5 generations taken I believe in Detroit with Teresa, Mary, Mary's son Nick, my grandmother and my father. My father remembers Teresa as the one eye widow who dressed in black and never left her room. He was scared of her, but then again he was only 5 years old. I am as! suming that you could be a decendent of Albert or Bob. Please let me know. The Pistonetti were very good to my grandmother and my great grandfather Nick was buried with the Pistonettis in Calumet. Looking forward to here from you. Michelle

Surnames: Osterman Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/2FB.2ACI/1892.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I was able to search the 1910 census on the Heritage Quest database. I couldn't find any Lovrencic in Michigan. Misspellings make databases tricky. However, I did find Mark Osterman. He was on microfilm Series T624 Roll 646 page 187, for Calumet Township. The actual census sheet says "District 12, Enumerator District 106, Sheet 31B, by Albert Mickelson." The lines for the family read: Osterman, Mark, head, M, W, 44, M1, 18, .., .., b in Austria (Slovenian), father b in Austria (Slovenian), mother b in Austria (Slovenian), immigrated 1885, Laborer in Copper Mine, ..; Osterman, Maggy, wife, F, W, 39, M1, 18 (i.e. first marriage 18 yrs), had 8 children, 7 still living, b in Austria (Slovenian), ...,..., immigrated 1892; Osterman, George, son, M, W, 13; Osterman, Mary, daughter, F, W, 11; Osterman, Maggy, daughter, F, W, 9; Osterman, Joseph, son, M, W, 8 (I think); Osterman, Marcos, son, M, W, 5; Osterman, Rudolph, son, M, W, 2; Osterman, William, son, M, W, 7/12 (I think)." My grandfather was listed as a "Slovenian" even though he was from Slovakia and, in fact, he was actually a Ruthenian, a small ethnic minority there. So you can't trust that. His last name was also misspelled. Hope that this helps. Greg Andrus
