I have been searching for the death certificate and burial place of Johannes Gull died July 10, 1901 in Hancock. According to the City Clerk of Hancock they have no death record for him. His family came to Hancock from Finland in August 1900. My question did people sometimes bury their children without recording the death. And what's the chance of finding a grave this being the case? Thanks for any input
Dear Listers, My people in Houghton County would be Simon Olsen Hoel, sometimes without the Hoel. His wife's father was Erick Lintulahti, though I found him in the 1870 census listed as Erick Lott. Simon was married in Calumet and it looks like that is where they were living in 1870. Would anyone have some suggestions on where and how I might find more information on these people? Erick's wife isn't listed in the census. I don't know if she died in Michigan or in Norway before they came here. Any help pointing me in the right direction will be most greatly appreciated. Judy Drake - Phoenix, AZ
